5 DIY Holiday Gifts For Your Gal Pals

The holiday season can be a wonderful and joyous time of the year, but also an extremely stressful one when it comes to gift giving. Over the years you have probably made a lot of new friends, co-workers, and perhaps you even have a new significant other. If your budget is tight this year but you still want to be able to give gifts to all the important people in your life, maybe you want to join the do-it-yourself (DIY) and create some of your own homemade gifts.

We have checked out lots of different DIY gift ideas and narrowed them down to our top 5 favorites. We hope that these ideas will make your life a bit easier and your holiday season a bit brighter.

#1 Lace Candle Holder

This gift is so chic that the receiver of the gift will probably wonder what home decoration store you got it from if you don’t tell them that it’s homemade. It is really simple and extremely inexpensive to make, so if you have a lot of people to give a gift to, this could be a good one to create in bulk. Please keep in mind that many lace doilies can be flammable, as they are often made out of paper, so make sure you let the receiver of this gift know that they should only place LED powered candles in the holder or put a tea light in a glass jar and then place it in the holder. The candle holder should also never be left unattended – safety first! Check out wonderfuldiy for details on how to make the lace candle holder.

#2 Hot Cocoa Snowman Jar

This gift idea takes a bit of time to do, but it’s worth it and extremely cute! However, we would personally use smaller jars, like baby food jars, to be able to make more of them to give away. If you opt to use smaller jars, the gift will probably only make one cup of hot chocolate and you should also think about using mini marshmallows. You may want to consider making your own hot cocoa powder mix to add an even more personal touch, by sifting high-quality cocoa powder, cinnamon and sugar together. #3 Bucket List in a Bottle

This gift is perfect for a significant other or for someone who is extremely close to you, like a best friend. People really like it when you go out of your way to make them something that comes from the heart, so the receiver of this gift will definitely appreciate the effort you put into making it. Check out how to make the bucket list in a bottle via YouTube Vlogger IlikeWeylie. Feel free to use any bottle you want; you can even think about spray painting a bottle silver or gold to give it a more luxurious touch.

#4 Bath Fizz

We don’t know anyone that doesn’t enjoy a nice warm bath from time to time. Martha Stewart created a great tutorial for making your own snowball bath fizzies, which are very festive for the winter holiday season and are sure to put a smile on the receiver’s face. This DIY project doesn’t require too many supplies, but you will need to buy a plastic mold and be patient while the “snowballs” dry. If you don’t want to buy a jar to pack them in, you can think of wrapping them in clear cellophane bags and attaching a ribbon.

#5 Wipe Off Board

This DIY is very easy to do, and anyone in your life who loves to organize will make great use of this gift. This project is extremely versatile and you can personalize it any way you’d like; just be sure to choose your colors carefully so that the person that writes on the glass can still read what they note down. For example, if you choose a dark colored paper, you should get a dry erase marker in white. Check out the blog makeandtakes for the tutorial.

And that wraps up our list of DIY holiday gifts. Happy Holidays DIYers!!
