Looking Ahead to 2020

by All Maxim Hygiene

What a decade! Thinking back to 2010, the options for healthier tampons and pads on retail shelves was almost non-existent. The idea that conventional feminine hygiene brands were not offering healthier product options was completely incomprehensible to buyers and category managers at major retail chains.Sensible reforms such as offering free tampons and pads at schools and other public restrooms and eliminating the Tampon Tax were also dismissed off-hand. But over the past 10 years the tides have turned. More education through social media and other online forums has led women to take note of what ingredients are in their personal care products. In turn, the legions of fierce women have made their voices known, leading to great political and social progress for the advancement of period rights.

In Maxim’s home state of NY, 2019 saw key legislation pass that mandates the free availability of tampons and pads in schools. In addition, beginning in 2020, all tampon and pad manufacturers will be forced to print their products’ ingredients on the box so shoppers have a chance to review what materials they are putting in and on their bodies. We look forward to more legislative victories in 2020 and beyond including (hopefully!) the abolishment of the tampon tax nationwide.

In addition, Maxim is taking steps to improve our offering to our customers as well as making strides to connect with you more often and in more meaningful ways. With this in mind, we are excited to share the following news:
